During an artist residency at Moskosel Creative Lab in Lapland, Sweden, I witnessed Aurora Borealis and researched how traditional culture explains this natural phenomenon. One story goes that the swans flew too high up in the sky during a competition. As a result, their wings became tangled up and frozen, and the lights of the Aurora appear when they try to break free.
