Aurora Borealis Myths, Original Woodcut Print

Multiblock Japanese Water-based woodcut on Awagami Kozo Select Murakumo Inkjet Paper, 22,5 x 43 cm, unique print, 2024. 

During an artist residency at Moskosel Creative Lab in Lapland Sweden,  I developed the immersive VR experience "Rise of the Tidal Ice Queens". I visited the Ajtte Museum in Jokkmokk to research Sami traditions, 3d scanned the Northern environments, and recorded 360 videos of the Aurora Borealis to build a virtual world covered in ice and snow and skies illuminated by Aurora. The print is based on an in-game photograph of my immersive experience.
